بغداد اليوم - متابعة يشير عالم الفلك الروسي ميخائيل ماسلوف من جامعة نوفوسيبيرسك، اليوم الجمعة ( 24 تموز 2026 )، إلى أن العلماء لم يكتشفوا بعد جميع الكويكبات التي قد تشكل تهديدا محتملا للأرض. ووفقا له، من المتوقع أن "يقترب الكويكب أبوفيس، الذي اكتُشف عام 2004 ويبلغ حجمه حجم ناطحة سحاب، من الأرض في 13 أبريل 2029 على مسافة تقدر بنحو 32 ألف كيلومتر، وتكتسب هذه الظاهرة أهمية كبيرة بالنسبة للعلماء، لأن الكويكب سيمر بالقرب من الأرض بشكل لافت مقارنة بأجسام أخرى بهذا الحجم". وقال: "تكمن المشكلة في أن جميع الكويكبات التي يحتمل أن تكون خطيرة لم تُكتشف بعد." وأوضح أن "معظم الكويكبات الكبيرة الموجودة في مدارات قريبة من الأرض، والتي قد تتسبب في عواقب خطيرة في حال اصطدامها بالكوكب، أصبحت معروفة للعلماء. وأضاف أن حساب مسارات الكويكبات المكتشفة وتقييم احتمالات اصطدامها بالأرض من مهام المختصين". وأشار ماسلوف إلى أن "علماء الفلك يواصلون اكتشاف كويكبات أصغر حجما، إلا أن قدرات أنظمة الرصد الحالية لا تزال محدودة"، موضحا أن "التحدي الأساسي يتمثل في مدى دقة هذه الأجهزة في رصد الأجسام الصغيرة. ورغم تحسن حساسية أنظمة المراقبة مع مرور الوقت، فإن التطور في هذا المجال لا يزال أبطأ مما يطمح إليه العلماء". المصدر: وكالات
