بغداد اليوم - بغداد كشفت وكالة رويترز الدولية للأنباء عبر تقرير خاص نشرته اليوم الاثنين (28 أيلول 2026)، عن تقديم الحكومة العراقية طلبا مباشرا الى الإدارة الامريكية للسماح لمطار النجف باستقبال الرحلات الجوية الإيرانية مقابل "تقديم ضمانات". وقالت الوكالة بحسب ما ترجمت "بغداد اليوم"، ان حكومة الزيدي أبلغت الجانب الأمريكي ان استمرار اغلاق مطار النجف امام الرحلات الإيرانية قد يؤدي الى "توحيد شيعة إيران التابعين للمرشد الأعلى مع شيعة العراق التابعين للسيد علي السيستاني ضدها". وتابعت "حكومة الزيدي تعهدت بتقديم ضمانات الى الجانب الأمريكي مقابل الموافقة على إعادة افتتاح مطار النجف امام الرحلات الإيرانية، بما فيها التعهد بمنع استخدام هذه الرحلات لنقل الأسلحة، الأموال المهربة او الشخصيات التي تفرض عليها واشنطن عقوبات". يشار الى ان صحيفة الجيروسليم بوست الإسرائيلية أعلنت في وقت سابق من اليوم ان الإدارة الامريكية وافقت على منح مطار النجف استثناء لمدة شهر واحد لاستقبال الرحلات الإيرانية.
