بغداد اليوم – ترجمة كشفت صحيفة واشنطن بوست الأمريكية، في تقرير مطول نشرته اليوم الاثنين ( 20 تموز 2026 )، عن تنامي المخاوف داخل الأوساط العسكرية الأمريكية من احتمال انزلاق الولايات المتحدة إلى مواجهة عسكرية واسعة مع إيران، في وقت تواجه فيه القوات الأمريكية تحديات تتعلق بالقدرات اللوجستية وتوافر الذخائر. وبحسب التقرير، الذي ترجمته "بغداد اليوم" فإن تحركات الإدارة الأمريكية، التي تشمل إرسال مزيد من الطائرات والقوات إلى منطقة الشرق الأوسط، تعكس تصعيدا قد يقود إلى توسيع نطاق العمليات العسكرية ضد إيران، بهدف زيادة الضغط عليها ودفعها إلى العودة للمفاوضات. ونقلت الصحيفة عن مسؤول أمريكي، طلب عدم الكشف عن هويته، قوله إن هناك خططاً لتوسيع العمليات العسكرية، إلا أن الجيش الأمريكي قد لا يمتلك الإمكانات الكافية لتنفيذ هذا التوسع، محذراً من أن استمرار العمليات الحالية يستهلك الذخائر والأسلحة بعيدة المدى بوتيرة مرتفعة. وأضاف المسؤول أن أي تصعيد إضافي سيكون مقيدا بقدرات الإمداد العسكري، معتبرا أن الإدارة الأمريكية لا تدرك بصورة كافية حجم التحديات التي قد تواجه القوات المسلحة في حال توسعت العمليات. وفي السياق ذاته، أشار التقرير إلى تحذيرات صادرة عن مدير برنامج الدفاع والأمن في معهد واشنطن للدراسات، سيث جونز، الذي رأى أن أي عجز في القدرة على توسيع العمليات الجوية قد يترك أمام واشنطن خيارات أكثر تعقيداً، من بينها اللجوء إلى عمليات برية. وأكد جونز، بحسب التقرير، أن الدفع بقوات أمريكية إلى عمليات برية ضد إيران سيكون خياراً بالغ الخطورة، مشيراً إلى أن الجيش الأمريكي، في وضعه الحالي، قد لا يكون مستعداً لخوض حرب طويلة الأمد على الأرض. ولفتت الصحيفة إلى أن التصعيد الأمريكي الأخير جاء عقب مقتل ثلاثة جنود أمريكيين خلال العمليات العسكرية في المنطقة الأسبوع الماضي، فيما امتنع البنتاغون عن التعليق على التقارير التي تحدثت عن احتمال انخراط الولايات المتحدة في حرب شاملة مع إيران.
